CCSS PREASSESSMENT FOR 2014-2015 SCHOOL YEAR

Students are to take the CCSS Pre-assessment test and submit a printout of their work by the assigned due date.  English II honors pre-assessment is due on Wednesday.  Senior Semantics pre-assessment is due on Thursday.  Please do your best, but do not use the tools available to you in your word processor.  The Smarter Balance CCSS assessment program does not have such functions.  I am not grading this, so do not stress out about the final product.  Nonetheless, please put in a reasonable effort.

ENGLISH IV
Several students have emailed to ask me about page length, so I contacted the person in charge.  He is not aware of a particular page length that CCSS would like to see.  He suggested that students imagine what they could do in one hour and use that as a guide.  I'm guessing that three pages would likely be a maximum and probably only two if the paper is single spaced, which is possible depending upon the prompt.  A CCSS assessment do not necessarily ask for an essay.  Apparently, I will have to look into this further.
